Daikin UK has opened its first Sustainable Home Centre, in partnership with East Anglia Renewables Centres.
The centre aims to give homeowners the opportunity to familiarise themselves with Daikin’s air source heat pump technology and sit down with an expert to discuss and agree the best solution for their home, before being partnered with a trusted local installer.
As well as winning projects and sourcing products via the centre, installers will be able to access training and resources to help enhance the services they offer – and to ensure the long-term competitiveness of their businesses as fossil fuels are phased out.
East Anglia Renewables Centres is a sister company to air conditioning and air source heat pump provider EOC Services and the two will work closely together and occupy adjacent premises in Downham Market, Norfolk.
Robert Hill, managing director at East Anglia Renewables Centres, said: “This is a big milestone for us, and an exciting opportunity to put East Anglia at the forefront of the UK’s net zero journey. We want our customers to receive the best quality products and service, which is why we’re working with Daikin.
“Homeowners’ word-of-mouth recommendations are invaluable to us, the installers we work with, and the viability of our national net zero targets. “So we’re proud to be playing a part in driving demand for air source heat pumps from homeowners, while ensuring there’s a network of skilled installers ready to meet that demand.”
Iain Bevan, commercial manager – heating & renewables at Daikin UK, added: “It’s important that homeowners who want to go green can access the best solution to meet their household’s heating and hot water needs. Being able to explore and discuss heat pump technology in person is vital, as is knowing that it will be installed by a highly-trained professional.
“Installer training is critical if we’re to meet the Committee on Climate Change’s target for 19 million heat pumps to be installed nationwide by 2050. To help get us there, industry estimates predict that 17,000 new heat pump installers will be required in the next decade.”
Installers who join Daikin’s Sustainable Home Network can benefit from free, hands-on-tools training at its training centres around the UK, to develop their heat pump installation and commissioning expertise. Other benefits of joining the network include dedicated technical support, sales ready leads, business support and special offers.
