A-Gas Italia has been officially launched, following completion of the purchase of the Safety Hi-Tech reclamation business based in Avezzano, approximately 100km east of Rome. The move sees refrigerant specialist A-Gas extend its recovery and reclamation services into Italy and southern Europe.
John Ormerod, managing director of A-Gas in Europe, said: “Launching A-Gas Italia is a great opportunity for us to expand further afield and to use our expertise and proven track record in the wider refrigerants market. We are looking forward to exciting times ahead and working within the newly expanded team to grow our service with existing and new customers in the region.”
A-Gas says it will integrate the existing workforce into the business as part of the transaction and look to grow and continue to invest in the site and region of Abruzzo. This will allow it to recover and reclaim used refrigerant from across Italy in line with its aim of maintaining its position as the global leader in full lifecycle management of refrigerant gases.
This is the sixth acquisition by A-Gas since investment by private equity firm KKR in mid-2017.
