A new management team will be in place at Bundy Germany in 2021, to make way for a smooth transition after the retirement of the company's long-standing head of research and development.

Jörg Kirchner will retire in the second half of 2021, having served Bundy in Germany for over three decades. A dedicated engineer, Jörg is credited as the brains behind Bundy's innovative wing tube technology and has recently gained patents on many of its revolutionary technical products.

Kirchner began his career as a production engineer before starting his own company in Bleicherode and a joint venture with Kenmore international, working on wire and tube condenser production in Germany, China and Turkey. In 2008 Jörg joined Bundy Refrigeration, where he was instrumental in successfully relocating the Bundy factory from Denmark to Germany. Jörg became director of product development for Bundy in 2011 and created many patents covering wing tube technology, which provides significant operational benefits to refrigeration units, including easier maintenance and reduced energy usage.

The new management team will be led by Bill Esler, who has an impressive career in engineering, technology and finance, along with Sascha Wieland, Andy Listemann and Sven Rothhagen who have all been with Bundy Germany for many years.

Bill who has lived and worked in Germany for over 25 years, has held several senior management positions including his role as Director of the Innovations Campus in Wolfsburg, Germany, the technological incubator hub for Volkswagen.

Mr Esler commented: "I am looking forward to taking Bundy Germany into its next phase. Jörg and his team have done an excellent job over the last 12 years, particularly with regard to innovation and new patented products and Bundy Germany is now a vital and dynamic part of the Bundy group. The previous year has been incredibly difficult, and I am very grateful to everyone at Bundy Germany for the way they have faced unprecedented circumstances. It is a testament to the team's hard work and determination that Bundy Germany was able to meet customer demands in a normal way as possible.

"Our focus is to continue to work in partnership with our customers to deliver the essential products that make market leading refrigeration brands. That also means developing our innovative wing tube technology to improve energy efficiency and reduce maintenance cycles. Being based in Bleicherode, Bundy Germany is at the heart of the refrigeration business in Europe, and we look forward to continuing our excellent relationships with OEMs across the union."
