Eurovent has announced the appointment of its first Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson for the recently formed Task Force on IT Cooling (TF-ITC). Enrico Boscaro of CAREL will serve as Chairperson, with Mario Scattolin of Vertiv named as Vice-Chairperson. Both will hold their positions for a two-year term.

Boscaro, Group Marketing Manager at CAREL, has more than 25 years of experience in the HVACR sector and is a long-standing member of Eurovent. In his new role, he will lead the group’s strategic efforts in shaping the future of data centre cooling across Europe.

“The data centre industry consumes a great deal of energy, but it also provides enabling technologies that can contribute to global energy savings,” said Boscaro. “This task force, made up of highly skilled professionals, is well placed to guide the HVAC sector towards continuous improvement and greater sustainability.”

Scattolin, Global Compliance Director at Vertiv, brings in-depth knowledge of IT cooling solutions and regulatory frameworks across European and global markets. He emphasised the need to balance growing computational demand with climate goals and decarbonisation.

“Our task force is dedicated to supporting the development of regulations that ensure IT cooling technologies meet high safety and performance standards, while also enhancing competitiveness and energy autonomy in Europe,” he said. “Collaboration will be essential as we navigate the challenges ahead.”

The TF-ITC was launched in December 2024 to provide Eurovent members with updates and insights on the evolving data centre cooling sector. Participation is open to all Eurovent members
