Petra Engineering Industries has launched a new series of Chilled Water Package Units using propane (R290) as the refrigerant.
The company says the development of the range is a result of the continuing demand in Europe for low GWP refrigerant options.
The series meets the efficiency requirements of Eco Design Directive (ERP) 2018, as well as all safety requirements demanded by the relevant standards for A3 refrigerants.
By integrating both the chiller, with the refrigerant-tight circuit, and an air handling unit, Petra says its unit eliminates the risk of refrigerant ingress into an occupied space.
The Petra R&D department aims to develop a more extensive range of HVAC systems which work on R290 and will make further announcements about new product development during 2020.
The new unit will be on display at Mostra Convegno Exhibition, Milan, in March, in Hall 22 (Stand C32 C42), and the HVAC Live Exhibition in London in April (Stand C20).
