Beijer Ref Refrigerants UK has introduced  its refrigerant recovery service, Refrec Reclaim.

The service is designed to simplify the process of recovering refrigerant from larger systems, typically 100kg charge and above. It aims to reduce contractors' time on site and save them money by increasing the speed at which refrigerants are recovered and handling the administration process.

Beijer Ref says the Refrec Reclaim team will manage all aspects of the recovery process. This includes attending site with trained technicians and carrying out the extraction of refrigerant using high speed machines capable of recovering refrigerant 10 times faster than conventional methods. Refrec Reclaim will also manage the logistics of the recovery cylinders required and administration requirements to ensure current legislation is adhered to.

Alec Stilling Head of Product Development at Beijer Ref UK, said: “With the phase-out of F-gases, we now have a demand to recover high GWP refrigerants with lower alternatives or natural refrigerants.

“Refrigerants are being recovered to allow maintenance on systems, dismantling of current installations and retrofits. The process to recover refrigerant in the past has been time-consuming and labour intensive for our trade customers, who could utilise their engineers’ specialist knowledge elsewhere.’’
