Hayley Cattell of Beijer Ref UK & Ireland and Garry Shaw of Sure Solutions were honoured for their achievements in front of a sell-out crowd at the National Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, and Heat Pump Awards in Manchester.

Awarding the title of RACHP Woman of the Year to the group sales director, host Juliet Loiselle described Hayley as 'someone who has had astonishing career growth and an equally positive impact on the company she works for and the colleagues she works with.' Joining Beijer Ref UK & Ireland in 2010, Hayley has progressed from a trainee sales engineer role to branch manager, product manager, regional sales manager, business director and group sales director 'turning traditional door-knocking sales engineering on its head and developing a core team of specialist sales managers, targeting the environmental market changes.' In 2018, Hayley was recognised by the United Nations Environment Programme.

Hayley Cattell - RACHP Woman of the Year 2024

Garry Shaw, founder and managing director of Sure Solutions, has dedicated 37 years to the RACHP industry and received the Phil Creaney's ACR Champion award. He has developed his own business to a team of 57 in seven years with a dedication to apprentices, completing 16 pathways during this time. The business's focus on natural refrigerant solutions and helping customers decarbonise their supply chains led to Sure Solutions becoming the first contractor in the world to receive the ATMOsphere-approved label for natural refrigerants - demonstrating excellence in design and installation, pushing the sector towards environmentally conscious and sustainable solutions.

Elsewhere, the competition was high, as over 100 award entries were received and judged by an expert panel. It was a series of double wins for Panasonic Heating & Cooling, RPS Group and Wave Refrigeration Ltd, with Britain's Got Talent 2022 winner, comedian Axel Blake and Warner's musical talent, Stephen Tanner, providing the entertainment.

Congratulations to all the winners and highly commended entries, and thank you to all who entered.
