World Refrigeration Day is soon upon us and there are many ways to mark this special day for our industry.
The IOR will be hosting a series of debates based around the recent launch of "Beyond Refrigeration - the challenge to achieve net zero heating and cooling for the UK". Join us here for live debates on the future role of refrigeration, air conditioning, and heat pumps. The World Refrigeration Day Secretariat, ASHRAE, European Partnership for Energy and Environment (EPEE), International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR), UNEP OzonAction, and Global Food Cold Chain Council (GFCCC) will be hosting an international webinar highlighting the vital role of the Cold Chain in food safety. World Refrigeration Day is being celebrated all over the world and the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) has a list showcasing events on all continents.
Nominate your #rachpheroes
The RACHP sector has provided vital services over the past few weeks and the IOR is keen to celebrate all of our industry's heroes who have gone the extra mile as part of their work or in the community. Join our social media campaign on 26th June and nominate your RACHP Hero (es) on Twitter or Facebook using the hashtag #rachpheroes and #wrefd20.
Invite a colleague to join the IOR for World Refrigeration Day
Identify someone you work with who would benefit from access to IOR’s comprehensive and reliable collection of online technical, education, and training resources. IOR membership distinguishes people in the industry who want to learn more and refresh their technical knowledge. For those new to the industry, the IOR now has a Membership Pathways mentoring scheme, which pairs them with an experienced member who can help them to plan and guide their professional development. The IOR application joining fee has been temporarily reduced from £49 to £20 for everyone – and they can wait to pay the rest of their first year's membership fee (ranging from £30 to £98) until September if required. Visit www.ior.org.uk/membership to find out more.
The first 10 new members to join up will be sent a FREE copy of the new Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heat Pump Technology Manual (retail price £40) donated by Mike Creamer at Business Edge. The book includes 100’s of calculations, exercises, illustrations and drawings on many subjects such as Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Fundamentals and Pressure-Enthalpy. Visit www.ior.org.uk/membership to sign up on World Refrigeration Day.
