ACR Trainee of the Year Finalists
Industrial refrigeration specialist SURE Solutions and Norfolk-based renewables company R A Brown Heating Services each claimed two awards and a highly commended spot at the 10th annual National ACR & Heat Pump Awards at Manchester’s Midland Hotel.
The sell-out event, hosted by ACR Journal and Heat Pumps Today, and compered by comedian Bobby Davro, also incorporated the Trainee of the Year Awards for the first time.
SURE retained its title as ACR Contractor of the Year and also won Environmental Initiative of the Year for its Sustainability Programme. It was highly commended behind ASDA/CBES in the Refrigeration Project category.
R A Brown was judged to have completed the best Air Source Project for a new-build family home and the outstanding Domestic Ground Source Project for a complete house renovation, adding second place in the Heat Pump Installer category, behind Calibrate Energy Engineering.
Linda McVittie of J & E Hall was named ACR Woman of the Year and John Billson, managing director of Beijer Ref UK & Ireland, received the Phil Creaney ACR Champion award. Luke Haile, of Lightfoot Defence/Eastleigh College, was recognised as ACR Trainee of the Year.
