Paul McGettigan, Midea UK

Recent appointments at Midea UK have seen three former colleagues reunited.

In line with the company’s growth strategy, Paul McGettigan has been appointed as Business Development Manager for Ireland. Based in Dublin, he will develop sales of HVAC products in the Irish market with a focus on the air-to-water heat pump range. The specialist technician has spent more than 15 years spent in the industry with companies including Climate Services, GEA Denco and, most recently, Hitachi.

Caroline Hayes

Caroline Hayes joins as Sales and Marketing Manager, UK and Ireland, to strengthen Midea’s position in the region and increase brand awareness of one of the fastest growing companies in the world - ranked #229 in 2020’s Global Fortune 500. Another former employee of Hitachi, Caroline brings a wealth of industry experience to the role with responsibility for leading the UK marketing strategy. She said: “It is a particularly exciting time to join the company as Midea becomes a major sponsor of Premier League football club Manchester City. This will see the global brand elevated further into the UK market and will give us the opportunity to showcase our fantastic product range.”

Steve Robinson, General Manager, UK & Ireland, and also formerly of Hitachi said: “I am delighted to work with both Paul and Caroline again and welcome them to the team here at Midea UK. Bringing together such fantastic experience and an in-depth understanding of our industry is invaluable to our business. This is a key time to expand with the launch of two market-leading product ranges in 2020 – new air-to-water heat pump and new 3 pipe heat recovery VRF range.”

Paul Melia

In a further move, Paul Melia has joined as National Account Manager. He has spent 15 years in the industry, previously working at Kooltech and, most recently, Beijer Ref as National Sales Manager for MHI. He said: "I am delighted to have joined the Midea UK team and to be part of the fastest growing AC brand in the UK. It did not take long to discover why Midea is such a powerful global brand. It is no surprise that the UK Mi-Pro product support strategy, with incentives for contractors who take care of the products they install, has resulted in such rapid growth for the company. Outdated perceptions are changing, and I am here to help so many more contractors benefit from a unique value proposition.”
