Samsung Climate Solutions UK has transferred its warehouse and logistics operation to XPO Logistics.
During the continued Covid-19 crisis, the entire UK air conditioning stock holding was relocated to the XPO warehouse in Crick, Northamptonshire. The whole operation took 12 days to complete and was carried out was whilst maintaining a full delivery service to customers. The new warehouse, beside the M1 motorway, is an ideal location to provide next-day delivery services to 95% of the UK.
Commercial Manager Andrew Faulkner said: “Whilst our previous transport provision provided an excellent service for our consumer electronics products, we recognised it wasn’t ideally suited in providing the B2B delivery requirement for our industry sector and the service levels our customers demand. This is why we made the decision to change to XPO Logistics, where the new warehouse is 60% larger than before, to accommodate a greater stockholding to support our continued expansion and growth.”
Samsung will take advantage of XPO Logistics' extensive experience in the HVAC sector, its 10 regional hubs, dedicated 18t tail-lift transport fleet as well as track and trace logistics capability. The new service is fully operational and Samsung customers will soon be able to track their delivery by a dedicated app that enables real time push notifications with order details.
