TG Lynes MD Andrew Ingham presents 2023 winner the Ruth Winston Centre

Heating, plumbing and air movement supplier TG Lynes has announced the return of its Helping Hands Campaign to assist charities, community groups, clubs and sports teams in Enfield and surrounding areas with a chance to win a donation of up to £10,000.

The successful giveaway, now in its third year, sees TG Lynes award two prizes of £10,000 and £5,000 worth of products and materials to enhance the buildings of good causes.

Andrew Ingram, TG Lynes' managing director, said, "We are delighted to announce the return of Helping Hands, which has really captured the imagination and caused a lot of excitement over the last two years.

"We had some fantastic entries last year and the winners, The Ruth Winston Centre and Southbury Primary, were able to make a real difference to their facilities.

"This year's Helping Hands is particularly poignant for us as it comes just after we have celebrated 20 years of being based in Enfield, having moved from King's Cross in 2004.

"We're a major local employer with a genuine passion for supporting the community in any way we can and we look forward to trawling through the applications."

Any group or organisation based in the Enfield vicinity – extending south to Hornsey, north to Hoddesdon, east to Epping and west to Barnet – is eligible to enter.

Entries can be made at https://www.tglynes.co.uk/page/campaigns/helping-hands-2024 until midnight on September 30. Groups must provide an overview of the organisation's work, how it benefits the community, and how £10,000 worth of product and labour would help.

Pauline Reynolds, Trustee at The Ruth Winston Community Centre, said: "Being awarded £10,000 from TG Lynes' Helping Hands competition was amazing.

"As a self-funding Community Centre, it enabled to us re-instate a smaller room for use as an office by our General/Accounts Manager, which in turned freed up a room for use as classes, thus providing additional income for the Centre.

"We were also able to remove a concertina-style room divider and replace it with an acoustic wall, vastly reducing the noise transmission between two rooms and enabling classes or meetings to take place in the two rooms at the same time, again helping to generate income for the Centre."
