Winners from the various student and trainee industry awards will be recognised at the Institute of Refrigeration 2024 Annual Dinner on February 22.
The award-winning guests will take part in a special networking session where they will meet industry leaders, allowing them to make contact and share valuable insights with experienced individuals at the start of their career. The networking session and the costs for the students and apprentices taking part have been generously paid for by Chemours.
Chemours Technical Marketing Specialist David Sowden said: “Chemours is continuously looking forward to developing future innovations, technologies and solutions. But how can these be implemented without a skilled workforce ready to face the exciting opportunities on the road ahead? We are therefore delighted to have this opportunity to support the Institute of Refrigeration and the leading students in the UK in gaining this additional industry recognition”.
IOR President Graeme Fox added: “I am really looking forward to meeting and talking to this group of students – one of IOR’s top priorities is to support apprentices and encourage young people in their careers. The dinner is a great opportunity to showcase the brightest new talent in our industry. I’d like to thank Chemours for making this possible”.
The 2024 IOR Annual Dinner is also looking to the future with an environment theme as it will be presenting its first Beyond Refrigeration Environmental Award. The new award highlights initiatives within the industry that address the challenges of net-zero cooling, alongside its existing J&E Hall Gold medal for innovation and Ted Perry Award for most promising student research.
