Refrigeration technician Luke Haile will head to France this weekend as part of the Team UK competing at the 47th WorldSkills International competition in Lyon (10-15 September).
Haile, who works for Lightfoot Defence, qualified for the event when he won the WorldSkills UK-RACHPSkills UK gold medal in 2022. That success came shortly after he was named ACR Trainee of the Year in 2021.
Team UK, sponsored by Pearson, will first be greeted by the French embassy in London after which they will make their way to Luton airport and depart for Lyon.
WorldSkills UK will be live streaming the opening ceremony on Tuesday, September 10 from 6-8pm (BST) and the closing ceremony, when the results will be announced, on Sunday, September 15 from 5.30-9:00pm (BST).
