Food service specialist MCFT has opened a new technical academy in Berkshire in what it says is a response to the recruitment challenges facing the industry.
The Theale academy offers apprentice technicians a comprehensive training environment to prepare them to reinforce MCFT’s offering to customers, which specialises in the maintenance of commercial catering and refrigeration equipment.
Andrew Try, Lord Lieutenant of Berkshire, led the opening ceremony. He and other key guests heard from members of MCFT's recent intake of apprentices about the benefits of training in a new industry and the prospects for a long-term career.
