Finnish firm, Progman, the mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) design solutions firm, is to open a new UK office in Manchester.
The software company creates the applications MagiCAD and MagiCloud which MEP customers used when working on Building Information Modelling (BIM) solutions. According the Progman, the global BIM market is set to reach around £4 billion (US$ 5.82 billion) by 2019, a growth rate of 17.43%*.
Progman boasts a number of UK clients, including Aecom, BDP,Ramboll, Quartzelec. Recent government changes require that public sector projects have to implement BIM Level 2, which is a move from 2D to 3D collaboration. The aim of the requirement is to cut down on waste in the build process.

As a result, users need more sophisticated CAD systems to cope with the increased demands of the modelling. The demand is driving Progman's growth in the UK. Level 2 BIM will soon be followed by Level 3 requirements.
