Managing director Gary Hall has become the sole owner of Yorkshire-based gas detection and monitoring specialist TQ Environmental, having acquired the business outright following months of negotiation.
In a further key change for the company, sales manager Gary Stanley is promoted to business development director.
Gary Hall joined TQ in 2008 as a sales engineer, becoming sales director in 2011 and managing director in 2016. He said: “Since starting with the company 14 years ago, I have helped build the foundations and watched TQ go from strength to strength. In 2011 I was fortunate to get an opportunity to buy into the business and in 2016, following a restructure, I was made managing director and continued to see the company flourish. I now believe that we are in a very strong position to move forward.‘’
Gary Stanley moved to TQ in 2020 as sales manager, having previously worked at Fujitsu. He said: “I joined TQ at the height of the pandemic, which could have been risky for both the company and myself. However, it was obvious to me from the outset that TQ were performing well, and the opportunity to join was too great to pass up. Over the past two years I have seen plenty of changes and have always been made to feel an integral part of the business. I feel very privileged to be given the chance to become business development director and help drive this well-established company forward.’’
Established in 1990, TQ Environmental specialises in the design, manufacture, installation, commissioning and servicing of fixed gas detection instruments and gas monitoring systems for a range of worldwide industries, including many blue-chip clients. All instruments are manufactured in the UK and all aspects of the company’s operations are approved by Lloyds Register to ISO9001 quality assurance procedures.
TQ boasts extensive experience in manufacturing gas detection instruments and gas monitoring systems for oxygen, toxic, flammable and refrigerant gases, with its refrigeration detection equipment helping large retail outlets to comply with F-Gas legislation.
The company’s general gas detection instruments and monitoring systems are used in industrial plants, commercial buildings and off-shore oil installations, while its marine monitoring systems cover ballast tanks, accommodation and void spaces on oil tankers and chemical tankers.
