Samsung Climate Solutions has appointed Scott Young to lead its expanding training programme.
With over 30 years’ experience as a qualified gas engineer for boiler and controls manufacturers - 18 of those as a training manager - Young brings valuable insights, particularly for engineers upskilling to install heat pumps.
He said: “Samsung’s commitment and drive to being the market leader in many different technology categories was one of the main attractions to being offered an opportunity to work with Samsung Climate Solutions. With the big push to reduce CO₂ emissions complemented by changes to UK building regulations, moving to Samsung has given me the opportunity to be at the forefront of this drive towards change.
“Since the COVID 19 pandemic, we have seen the way changes to product training have developed. The pandemic saw an increase in webinar based training so that important lines of communication could be kept open with installers. In a hybrid working world now, e-learning content has a key part to play as it fits around an installer’s busy work schedule. I am currently creating e-learning modules to help give that flexibility to the Samsung heat pump installers of the future, along with other exciting projects to come.
